A spokesperson from AD told the Leicester Mercury that:
"The board of Trustee's has yet to make a decision about the future of the building on Welford Road"
To the Deaf Community the Trustees said:
"There are no plans to sell the building"
What does this mean?
The two statements don't match.
Just exactly what are your plans AD?
The constitution states that the AGM should be held in September or very soon after.
So when is the AGM?
November they said.
No sorry It's been delayed again!
Are AD hiding more from the community or are they utterly incompetent?
Action Deafness organised an Open Forum.
'Your chance to ask questions' 12-4pm. Wow this is what we want.
Not so!
The chair of the Trustees started by saying "we will not have questions today, oh and we close at 2,15"
A mass walkout followed.
The Deaf community were furious. A protest was held at the Trustees meeting that followed.
The closure of Loughborough and the way it was done seems to be the flash point for the Deaf community to start taking action over thier growing unrest with AD.
There has been a long standing issue with communication from AD towards the Deaf community.
Is the surveyors report real?
Why do AD refuse to show it?
Confidential!
It is a building report! Not some personal details!
We know if it was true they would be waving it from the rooftop!
