The committee have agreed that information is slow to circulate to the members. To try to fix this. the minutes from meetings will now be posted on the notice board for all members to read. The videos of the entertainment from the gangsters and molls party are now uploaded and ready to view on this website. Click here or click on the entertainment page to see them We are sorry to inform all that our club will not be open on Wednesday night 12th may. The club will be open again on the 26th. Sorry for any inconvenience. Leicester Deaf Club’s AGM is on 8th May at 6pm. Voting will take place for the position of Chairperson using a ballot box. The Committee will also be voted in for the coming year. Have your say come along. All members welcome.
The Charleston Dancers have been practicing very hard for the Gangsters & Molls party on April 17th. This show is a must see! Remember tickets are on sale now and are very reasonably priced at £5.00. This includes a buffet and a disco. The hall will have a very 1920′s feel to it with the decorations. Also we have the best raffle prizes ever offered at one of our parties including a Tom Tom Sat nav for the car, a 10 megapixel camera along with a BBQ and mobile phones. It is sure to be one of the best parties ever held by the LDSSC and it will also be the last in that building. Get your tickets NOW!
There will be a ‘bring and share tea’ afterwards. Everyone is welcome. Please try to bring something e.g. sausage rolls, veggie nibbles, cakes, crisps etc to share. This is our chance to say goodbye to Elaine who has been a good friend to so many of us for so long. Please try to come.
76% of people think that the Trustees are wrong to sell the Deaf centre. Well no suprises there! It seems that the the people who use the centre will be very disappointed because they are selling it. Voting is now closed as the building will be at the end of June. It will be a sad day for the Deaf community when the doors close for the last time, and it remains to be seen if the Trustees provide a replacement as they are promising.
Please put your name down on the notice board if you want to come. We will leave Leicester at about 9am on Friday 20th August and return sometime on the Sunday afternoon. Please write on the sheet where you would like to go. The place with the most votes wins. Cost will depend on the Hotel or bed and breakfast price. |
