76% of people think that the Trustees are wrong to sell the Deaf centre. Well no suprises there! It seems that the the people who use the centre will be very disappointed because they are selling it. Voting is now closed as the building will be at the end of June. It will be a sad day for the Deaf community when the doors close for the last time, and it remains to be seen if the Trustees provide a replacement as they are promising.
Please put your name down on the notice board if you want to come. We will leave Leicester at about 9am on Friday 20th August and return sometime on the Sunday afternoon. Please write on the sheet where you would like to go. The place with the most votes wins. Cost will depend on the Hotel or bed and breakfast price.
The bingo tickets will cost £5 to boost the prize fund for the evening. Crazy bingo will also cost £5 which means there will be quite a big payout for the lucky member who wins. The next community meeting is on the 9th Feb at 7pm-9pm. It is very important to attend. If you want your say, be there! Don’t wait until it is too late!
The tickets are on sale now at only £5 each. Bargain! There is food included in the price and the Disco is booked. There is a rumour that some of the Ladies club are practicing a special themed dance for the party. This should be worth watching. Don’t miss out, get your ticket now! The Bingo snowball was won on Saturday night. The winner did not want her picture shown. The snowball was £220.00 added to the £55 for a full house. Well done to that person. It really was her lucky night as she also won on the crazy bingo. Very nice!!!!!

Ok the vote is finished. Is the Deaf Club membership good value for money? 14% of you thought Fantastic. 36% of you said Too Expensive. Nobody said Far too cheap. 29% said About right. 21% said Rip off. We know the increase was a big jump from £5 to £10. There has not been an increase in prices for a long time. For your money you get access to Saturday bingo every other week and Wednesday Deaf club every other week. Thats only about 20p a visit to a great club.
There is a community meeting on Tuesday 26th January at 7pm. Please come along to support the Deaf community. Put your views forward. This meeting is very important for the future of the Deaf club. Please come. |
